Teddy Bear Co. Irvine, California - June 2008 Tiger Woods was not the only one drawing attention from the gallery at Torrey Pines this past weekend. The Herrington Teddy Bear Company was on the course shooting par with an entire 2008 series of US Open plush memorabilia. The Herrington Teddy Bear Co. made their first US Open appearance in 2002 and have been popular with golf fans ever since. This year's collection was another huge success for Herrington. The 2008 U.S. Open logo is embroidered on each piece, and each piece is a limited edition style. The complete 2008 series includes the following: 16" white floppy-style bear with blue sweatshirt, 16" floppy-style pink teddy bear with white sweatshirt, 18" floppy-style plush dolphin, 14" honey-colored bear with navy sweater, 16" white teddy bear with navy sweater, 12" plush grizzly bear, 8" Blue Bean Bag Bear, 8" Seal Bean Bag, 8" Yellow Bean Bag Bear, 8" Honey Bean Bag Bear and 8" Dolphin Bean Bag. "There were record crowds for the week at the Open this year," said CFO Martin Herrington. "Sales were brisk for our teddy bears with the most popular being the Pink Bear with White Hoodie and classic Torrey Pines logo embroidered on front. Our Bean Bag Seal was also a popular item due to the proximity to La Jolla where seals are visible along the rocky coastline. Once again, we were very pleased to be involved with the USGA and this fantastic sporting event. Everything is so well organized and laid out that it makes a partner like us proud to be associated with such a first class production." Torrey Pines Golf Course in La Jolla, Calif., played host to the 2008 US Open Championship that began on June 12th and ended in a sudden death play off on June 16th. Chris and Martin Herrington were both on the greens meeting and greeting golf aficionados and teddy bear collectors. This marks the seventh year The Herrington Teddy Bear Co. has signed with the USGA to design an entire collection of USGA teddy bear and plush memorabilia.
